Biosolids are a public danger

In Erik J. Beukenkamp's letter (Sept. 29, “Our Readers Write”) to the editor he mentions Dr. Lisk's
studies on the danger of biosolids. Dr Babish also published work on the subject (“Health Risks
Associated with the Organic Fraction of Municipal Sewage Sludges,”
http://deadlydeceit.
com/AcuteToxicity.html)

The Web site http://deadlydeceit.com is devoted to compiling the scientific information concerning
the deadly nature of sludge/biosolids so scientists can quit claiming there is no scientific data
available.

Scientists have to quit kidding us, and themselves, that more scientific research is going to
magically prove sludge/biosolids are safe. The EPA has the documents on file which shows that
exposure to the chemicals and disease causing organisms in sludge/biosolds will cause death,
disease, cancer, etc., through the air, food and water.

How can incomplete scientific research by soil and physical scientists hope to prove that Congress
was wrong when the same point was made in the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and
the Clean Water Act.

The simple fact is that EPA has funding these sludge/biosolids studies as a way to con the public
and scientists who generally have no need to read the law. This con game has destroyed over a
hundred years of soil research.
